OECS Press Release

The latest Virtual Information Session for the Window 2 Call for Proposals under the Regional MSME Matching Grants Programme was a great success, drawing participation from MSME owners and managers across Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

The session, which focused on Value Chain Operations, was led by Head of Trade Policy Development, Ricardo James, and Senior Grants Advisor, Kyle Garnes. Their insightful presentations explored the critical role of value chains in the Blue Economy and provided real-world examples to illustrate how MSMEs can benefit from collaborative efforts.

MSMEs in the Fisheries, Marine Tourism, and Waste Management sectors are eligible for this significant funding opportunity. The programme is making available USD 4.5 million in grants, with each value chain receiving between USD 100,000.00 and USD 200,000.00.

During the session, attendees gained clarity on key topics, including:
Eligibility criteria and entities that do not qualify
Examples of MSMEs in the Blue Economy that can apply
The importance of collaboration within value chains
How value chain operations can strengthen business growth and sustainability

The high level of engagement from MSME stakeholders underscores the increasing interest in leveraging grant funding to enhance business operations and strengthen the Blue Economy in the region.

Thank You to Our Attendees!
We extend our sincere gratitude to all who participated and contributed to the session’s success. Your engagement and enthusiasm reflect the potential of the Blue Economy to drive sustainable economic development in the OECS.

About The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States

Back to www.oecs.int

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has eleven members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique and Guadeloupe.
