OECS Commission Statement on Passage of Tornado in Cuba

The Commission of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) notes with much sadness the unfortunate passage of a tornado over the Cuban capital on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
The Commission refers in particular to the tragic loss of life brought about by the tornado and conveys its deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. The Commission is also mindful of the significant damage to physical infrastructure caused by the passage of the tornado, and sympathises with those who may have suffered personal injury, or loss or damage to property.
The people of the OECS region share the pain and suffering of the Government and people of Cuba and join their Governments in conveying to the Government and people of Cuba, deepest condolences in this difficult period. The Government and people of Cuba can be assured of the continued solidarity of the Government and people of the OECS.
