OECS MEDIA RELEASE

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission is excited to announce OECS Colours Day on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as part of its 44th anniversary celebrations, under the theme of "Adapting, Innovating, Sustaining: A Unified OECS for a Changing World". On this special day, the OECS Commission invites individuals, schools, organisations, and communities across the OECS to join in a vibrant display of unity.

OECS citizens and supporters are invited to wear the official OECS colours - green, yellow, white and navy blue - as a symbol of shared identity, and in celebration of the OECS' enduring legacy and regional impact. Whether at work, school or home, the OECS Commission encourages everyone to participate in this commemorative regional moment.

Additionally, participants in OECS Colours Day are encouraged to post and share photographs of themselves wearing OECS colours on social media using the hashtags #OECSDay and #OECSDay2025. Selected photographs may be featured on the OECS Commission's platforms as part of a regional showcase. Wear the OECS Colours and make June 18, 2025, a day to remember.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has twelve members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Saint Martin.
