OECS 44th Anniversary Fun Walk Successfully Hosted in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

OECS MEDIA RELEASE

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission marked another milestone in its 44th Anniversary celebrations with the successful hosting of a commemorative Fun Walk in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The event, which took place on June 15, brought together enthusiastic participants, including government officials, regional dignitaries and members of the public.

The 5.4-kilometre walk, which began and ended at the Arnos Vale Stadium, followed a scenic looped route that showcased the natural beauty of the island while creating space for community fellowship, fitness and celebration. The event was hosted by the OECS Commission in collaboration with the Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the International Organization of Migration (IOM) Caribbean Office and the OECS Regional Integration for Growth Harmonisation and Technology (RIGHT) Programme.

The OECS 44th Anniversary Fun Walk was one of several events commemorating the anniversary under the theme "Adapting, Innovating, Sustaining: A Unified OECS for a Changing World." The walk served not only as a celebration of regional unity but also as a tangible demonstration of community engagement, bringing together people of all ages to promote wellness, regional integration, the Free Movement of Persons, and public participation in the anniversary activities.

Participants joined together in a spirit of camaraderie, with local performers and community groups also lending their energy to the event. The Fun Walk reflects the OECS' ongoing commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive and connected region.

The OECS Commission extends its sincere gratitude to all partners, volunteers, and community members whose support helped ensure the success of the event. As the Commission continues its 44th anniversary celebrations, this Fun Walk stands as a vibrant example of what can be achieved through collaboration and shared purpose.
