OECS PRESS RELEASE

January 28, 2025 —Yesterday marked the start of an intensive week of activities for the MISS OECS 2025 Pageant in Dominica. Contestants will engage with the public, refine their skills, and engage in activities that promote OECS culture and personal development. The week will include an eco-tour, school and charity visits, rehearsals, and media appearances, allowing them to connect with local communities and promote regional values.

The OECS Commission proudly reaffirms its endorsement of the Pageant, which is considered a celebration of regional integration, unity, and youth empowerment. Under the theme “Elysian Elegance and Empowerment”, this year’s pageant represents a meaningful platform for encouraging cultural exchange and promoting the values of collaboration and resilience among our OECS Member States.

Contestants representing Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will showcase the region's rich diversity and talent. The OECS Commission officially invites the entire region to follow the contestants' journeys as they prepare to proudly represent their countries.

The Miss OECS Pageant will be held on January 31st at 8:00 pm at Windsor Park Stadium in Dominica and online (more information coming soon).

Back to www.oecs.int

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has eleven members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique and Guadeloupe.
