WHAT: Invitation to cover 3rd Caribbean NDC Investment Forum and Marketplace
WHEN: March 31 – April 2, 2025
TIME: 9 a.m. (AST)
WHERE: Radisson, Grenada,
The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is finalising preparations for the 3rd Caribbean NDC Investment Forum and Marketplace at Radisson Grenada, under the theme “Investing in Climate Action for a Resilient Future.” With nearly 300 attendees expected—over 230 participating in person and the remainder virtually—this year’s Forum marks the largest gathering since the event's inception.
The Forum comes at a pivotal time, as the Caribbean continues to grapple with the accelerating impacts of climate change. The OECS recognises the urgent need to invest in clean, renewable energy—not only to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions but also to reduce dependency on imported fossil fuels, lower energy costs, and strengthen energy security across the region. These investments are key to achieving long-term economic and environmental resilience for OECS Member States.
The Caribbean NDC Investment Forum and Marketplace was founded by the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Government of Saint Lucia, the NDC Partnership, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The 3rd NDC Investment Forum is proudly sponsored by the Government of Grenada, the European Union Global Gateway, the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the OPEC Fund for International Development, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), GIZ, the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), and the NDC Partnership.
Since its inception, the NDCFI has supported Caribbean climate leadership by catalysing investments in low-carbon, resilient infrastructure across priority sectors as identified by OECS Member States. It also continues to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing, capacity building, and improved access to public and private climate finance.
The 3rd NDC Investment Forum aims to celebrate the achievements of the NDCFI since the last Forum, while renewing and expanding the network of stakeholders committed to ambitious climate action. It will place a greater emphasis on attracting investment in climate change-related projects, strengthening collaboration among governments, the private sector, NGOs, and development partners. The event also serves as a marketplace where investment-ready projects can be matched with potential investors and funding sources.
Importantly, the Forum will highlight innovative and scalable projects already being implemented in OECS Member States, while seeking support to expand these initiatives. It is expected to draw new partners, collaborators, and investors, all committed to advancing a more resilient and sustainable Caribbean.
Persons who wish to participate virtually can still register and be part of the dynamic discussions and networking opportunities.
