[MEDIA ALERT]: Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court to host 50th Anniversary Exhibition Saint Kitts and Nevis

The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court [ECSC] continues the celebration of its 50th Anniversary under the theme - "Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future".
In celebration of this milestone, the Saint Kitts and Nevis 50th Anniversary Steering Committee has planned a 50th Anniversary Exhibition to be held in Magistrate Court (1) at the Sir Lee L. Moore Judicial & Legal Services Complex, Independence Square Street (E) St. Kitts and Nevis from March 12th -14th, 2018 from 9.00am to 4.30 pm each day. The exhibition will then be moved to Nevis for display on Friday March 16th, 2018 at the High Court of Justice, Prince William Street, Charlestown, Nevis from 9.00am to 4pm.
The main purpose of the exhibition is to give the people of St. Kitts and Nevis a better understanding and appreciation of the inner workings of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
Among the many exhibits of noted jurists will be the works of His Lordship, The Hon. Sir Hugh Rawlins, former Chief of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, having served in that capacity from April 2008 to August 2012. Sir Hugh is a native of Saint Kitts and Nevis, having been born in Nevis. Sir Hugh is the first member of the judiciary to have served in every judicial position in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
An invitation to view the exhibition is extended to all citizens, residents and visitors.
The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) was established in 1967 by the West Indies Associated States Supreme Court Order No. 223 of 1967. The (ECSC) is a superior court of record for the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), including six independent states: Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and three British Overseas Territories (Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, and Montserrat). It has unlimited jurisdiction in each Member State.
