The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) is revolutionizing the way healthcare services are managed and delivered across Dominica with the launch of the Health Management & Information System (HM&IS).

A Future Where Healthcare Works for You

Imagine a healthcare system where your medical records, appointments, prescriptions and treatment history are all available with just a few clicks. Picture being able to register for care without waiting in long lines or filling out piles of paperwork. With HM&IS, this vision is now a reality.

Bringing together three hospitals and over fifty health centers under a single, secure digital umbrella, HM&IS acts as the central hub for healthcare in Dominica, ensuring every part of the system works in harmony to deliver better outcomes for patients and providers alike.

Empowering Citizens, Simplifying Care

The HM&IS has been thoughtfully designed to make your interactions with the healthcare system more streamlined, convenient and responsive. Its key features include:

  • Patient Registration: Say goodbye to long lines. Whether it’s for a consultation or hospital admission, registering is now simple and fast-done from your device, anytime.
  • Appointment Booking: Manage your healthcare on your terms. Book, view or reschedule appointments online, with real-time confirmation.
  • Admission Management: In urgent moments, every second matters. HM&IS ensures faster admissions so you can receive care when it matters most.
  • Prescription Management: Medications are now tracked and managed electronically-minimizing errors and improving your safety.
  • Digital Health Records: Access your medical history anytime, anywhere. Your information is securely stored and easily shared with authorized providers, supporting coordinated care.

The Benefits: A Healthier Nation

What does this mean for the average Dominican? Quite simply, it’s about putting your health in your hands:

  • Accessibility: With your medical information a few clicks away, you’re no longer dependent on paperwork or physical files.
  • Reduced Wait Times: Quicker registrations and scheduling means more time for living, less time waiting.
  • Improved Communication: Get timely alerts and reminders about appointments, test results and prescriptions.
  • Data Security: HM&IS prioritizes the confidentiality of your health information, using robust security protocols to keep your data safe.
  • A Seamless Experience: Whether you’re in Roseau or a rural village, healthcare is now connected, coordinated and convenient.

Enhancing Care, Empowering Professionals

HM&IS is transforming the experience for patients and revolutionizing how healthcare professionals and facilities operate. Doctors, nurses and administrators now have access to real-time data, enabling better decisions and more effective treatment plans.

  • Streamlined Operations: Less paperwork, more patient care. The system automates many administrative tasks so providers can focus on healing.
  • Powerful Analytics: Healthcare leaders can use data to track trends, allocate resources smartly and improve service delivery.
  • Interoperability: Providers across the island can share information seamlessly, ensuring continuity of care no matter where patients go.
  • Quality Assurance: HM&IS ensures consistent standards and reduces human error, raising the overall quality of care.

A New Chapter in Dominican Healthcare

The introduction of the Health Management & Information System marks a pivotal moment in Dominica’s journey toward a modern, citizen-centric healthcare system. It is a promise of better health, greater dignity and a stronger connection between citizens and caregivers.
