Deadline Extended for the Regional MSME Matching Grants Programme – New Date: December 13, 2024!

The Commission of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is pleased to announce that the application deadline for the Window 1 Call for Proposals for the Regional MSME Matching Grants Programme has been extended to December 13, 2024, at 11:59 PM. This is great news for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Grenada, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

This extension provides more time for MSMEs in the Marine Tourism, Fisheries, and Waste Management sectors to seize this fantastic funding opportunity. Fishermen, seafood processors, seafood distributors, leisure boat owners, dive operators, watersport operators, dive shops, seamoss farmers, waste haules and waste recyclers are among the varied types of entrepreneurs and businesses eligible for the funding under the Programme.

The deadline has been extended to ensure that as many eligible businesses as possible can benefit from this World Bank-funded initiative under the Unleashing the Blue Economy of the Eastern Caribbean (UBEC) Project.

Grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 USD are available to support:

  • Business expansion and increased productivity
  • Adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices
  • Strengthening your role in the region’s growing Blue Economy

For an MSME to qualify for funding under the Programme, it must meet the following eligibility criteria

 

  1. Must be legally registered in either Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines or Grenada.
  2. Must provide articles of incorporation, business name registration or any other documentation which substantiates the legal character of the entity in the country in which it operates.
  3. Must be in operation for a minimum of two years. This must be supported by bank statements or financial statements covering the last two years.
  4. Must have less than 50 employees and generate under $1 million per year.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has eleven members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique and Guadeloupe.
