Contestants Arrive in Dominica for MISS OECS 2026 Activity Week

OECS PRESS RELEASE

The Nature Island has officially transformed into a hub of Caribbean grace and sisterhood as contestants for the MISS OECS 2026 Pageant arrived on Monday to begin their intensive week of activities. Organized by the Miss OECS Pageant Committee (Dominica), the week is designed to refine the delegates' skills while fostering regional unity through community engagement.

Under the theme “Crowning Radiance, Embracing Unity,” the five elite ambassadors from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have hit the ground running with a rigorous schedule:

  • Professional Development: Yesterday, delegates participated in a series of "One on One" sessions with stage management and hair stylists, and later participated in A Welcome Cocktail Event with Media and Sponsors.
  • Radiance, Energy & Partnership: Today, Wednesday, January 28th, the contestants visited Dominica’s Geothermal Plant. Currently in its final stages of development, the delegates explored the infrastructure that is set to redefine the OECS region's energy landscape. The day also included meetings with official sponsors to acknowledge their vital support for this important event.
  • Media & Diplomacy: The day continues with the "OECS Talk" live media appearance, where contestants will demonstrate their eloquence on regional topics and promote the spirit of regional integration.
  • Final Preparation: The week concludes with a full dress rehearsal at the Windsor Park Stadium to prepare for Friday’s grand coronation.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, His Excellency Dr. Gerald Jean Jacques, Dominica’s Ambassador to the OECS and CARICOM, stated:

“It’s more than just a pageant, it’s regional unity".

This week is made possible through the generous support of the Miss OECS Pageants's 2026 sponsors: OECS PEARL Dominica, the Division of Culture, Agricultural Industrial Development (AID) Bank, National Bank of Dominica (NBD), Kairi FM, Big Edge Financing, Fine Foods Inc., Rapid Response Recovery, Bulls Eye Pharmacy, Grippa’s Construction, Flow Dominica, Sunrise Airways, and the Discover Dominica Authority.

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Organisation dedicated to economic harmonisation and integration, protection of human and legal rights, and the encouragement of good governance among independent and non-independent countries in the Eastern Caribbean. The OECS came into being on June 18th 1981, when seven Eastern Caribbean countries signed a treaty agreeing to cooperate with each other while promoting unity and solidarity among its Members. The Treaty became known as the Treaty of Basseterre, so named in honour of the capital city of St. Kitts and Nevis where it was signed. The OECS today, currently has twelve members, spread across the Eastern Caribbean comprising Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Saint Martin.
