Anniversary of the passing of Raymond O'Keiffe
OECS Media Statement by the Director General Dr. Didacus Jules
Colleagues, today we remember the passing of someone who was among the most passionate voices for OECS integration, Raymond O’Keiffe.
It has been a year ago that we said goodbye to Raymond but I am sure that he remains in our memories as someone who was always bubbly and engaging and whose belief in radio communication was almost a religious tenet.
He used his communications skills not only on the job but for the betterment of the many communities in which he played a leadership and mentoring role: his Church, youth groups, his music fraternity.
Raymond stood out as a devoted father who found absolute joy in his children.
Today, we should also remember the O’Keiffe family, Stacey his wife, and their children Kensani and Kwansa, his mother and siblings. Let us spare a moment of prayer so that they can gain comfort in their own remembrance and courage to walk their road.
For all of us, there is a message. We are but a merely fleeting presence in this world. We do not know how long we have nor can we predict the trials and storms that may befall us along our own personal journey. God’s plan for us is as wonderful as it is mysterious. Our personal and collective challenge is to live purposefully and to use our precious gift of time to make this world a better place - principally for the many less fortunate.
We remember Raymond's contribution and extend our best wishes to his family. May God bless them and may he rest in eternal peace.
