In presenting her credentials to the Director General, Ambassador Ormanci stated,

“It is a great honour and privilege to serve as Türkiye’s  Ambassador to this august body. You can rest assured that I will do my utmost to strengthen our relations further.”

Accepting the Letter of Credence, Dr. Jules stated,

“It is with great pleasure that I accept, today, the letter of credence accrediting you as the first Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
“The presentation of your credentials marks not only the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the OECS and the Republic of Türkiye but also underscores Türkiye’s keen interest on deepening engagement and cooperation with our region. The Commission recognises Türkiye’s rich history, its dynamic economy and its strong commitment to international partnerships for global development.”

During a courtesy meeting held immediately following the ceremony, the Director General and the Ambassador discussed plans for strengthening relations between Türkiye and the OECS. Both sides agreed on the need to commence discussions in the immediate future to operationalise the Memorandum of Understanding between Türkiye and the OECS signed in 2016 which had already spotlighted areas of collaboration in disaster management, MSME support, tourism, health, youth, culture, agriculture, education, and business. They also discussed new opportunities.

In addition to her appointment as Ambassador to the OECS, Her Excellency Ormanci is also accredited to Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis.
